Happy 3rd Birthday to Horace Mann’s favorite four-legged staff member, Birdie! 🐶🎉🎂

Today we are celebrating 3 wonderful years of smiles, tail wags, comfort, and unconditional support that Birdie brings to our students and staff every single day. 🐾 ❤️

Happy Birthday 🎉🎉🎉 to K-9 Birdie who turns 3 years old today! She looks forward to seeing everyone back at school in a few days!

🥁 Our students took center stage to kick off the 2026 school year!

Last Monday, we brought our entire Wausau School District staff together, but it was our incredible students who truly stole the show and brought the energy.

From the Wausau East and Wausau West drumlines hyping everyone up outside with our school mascots, to students filling the hallways to cheer, high-five, and celebrate our staff as they walked through the doors—the energy in the building was electric.

Inside the auditorium, the fun continued with a high-energy celebration led by one of our very own school counselors, Mr. Josh Duwe, as DJ. We also heard important district updates and inspiring messages from School Board President Jim Bouché, Board Treasurer Sarah Brock, and Board Member Yauo Yang.

One of the highlights of the video—and the day—was watching and listening to our students share the direct impact our teachers and staff have made on their lives.

🏐💗Pink Ribbon Volley is coming up on September 24th, and we’re gearing up for one of the most fun and meaningful nights of the season!

Pink Ribbon Volley is our annual community night where we honor those impacted by breast cancer, raise awareness, and rally our athletes around something bigger than the game. It’s loud, it’s pink, it’s heartfelt — and it’s one of the best traditions we have.

This year, East and West come together under the theme: United at the Net; Serving Hope.
