The facts concerning The Open Door in terms of its continued solvency and functionality is that while the Executive Director did indeed step-down effective July 7th (for personal health reasons).

It has been inaccurately reported that Open Door is COMPLETELY shut down and not providing any services to the community.

To clarify:
• OD DID NOT cease day to day operations and continues to provide services through a variety of on-going programs that remain operational.
• Open Door is re-assessing its top tier Management Leadership Team.
o Temporary hours:
• Monday-Friday 9 am to Noon
• Saturday and Sunday currently closed
• Other services by appointment only

During this temporary transition period, we will continue to provide access to our clients in picking up mail, provide clothing, food supplies, water, and supportive limited case-management functions for the purposes of securing Wisconsin IDs, enrollment in Food-Share, Badger Care as well as obtaining government-issued phones. In addition, OD continues to provide guidance and assistance for the purposes of job searches and resume development. This is handled on a case-by-case basis.

During this temporary transitional time, interviewing has already begun to hire both an Executive Director & a Facilities Operations Director. Simultaneously our Board is proactively filling vacancies on its Board of Directors and allied standing committees.

Donations of clothing and hygiene products are welcome and encouraged. And monetary donations are graciously welcomed. More than ever, we need your support.
As part of our rebuilding process, we are also seeking volunteers in key roles. Further information on these roles can be found on our website www.opendoorofmarathoncounty.com.
