The Marathon County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit "Paws Enforcing Laws" is a community program designed to help promote community awareness related to illegal substances and the need for proactive law enforcement. It is our hope the use of the K-9 Unit will be a benefit to the community in a number of different ways including the education of the public, community involvement with law enforcement in a

positive manner, the detection and apprehension of persons violating laws, and tracking of lost or dangerous individuals. Our K-9 Unit maintains four K-9 teams and is completely self-funded with community donations. Troy Deiler

***FUNDRAISER ANNOUNCEMENT***

31 GUNS IN 31 DAYS

The Marathon County K-9 Unit's annual fundraiser for 2026 is officially underway. During the month of August, we will be giving away 31 GUNS IN 31 DAYS! Tickets are $25 each and all Federal/State laws apply. Tickets will be sold at the Administrative window at the Sheriff's Office and by members of the K-9 Unit. All profits will go towards funding the Marathon County K-9 Unit. Funds raised will support the unit by providing necessary equipment, training, veterinary care, etc. Drawings will be held at the Sheriff's Office at 2:00 p.m. daily during the month of August 2026.
