Kara is a stocker in The Market and has been volunteering at The Neighbors' Place for15 years!

Kara's Why: I originally came to volunteer at TNP because I had a girlfriend who was volunteering. For the past 15 years, I have continued to come back because I just love the people. I enjoy socializing with the guests and other volunteers—I have made so many friends here, like Fred and Maury. Everyone truly feels like family!

🏈 Big thank you to North Central Football Camp 🏈

Since 1993, this camp has brought together athletes from 14 schools across Marathon County to sharpen their skills and give back to different organizations in our community. We are grateful for the hard work, team spirit, and generosity of these athletes and coaches!

My Why Wednesday

🤗 Meet Mike 🤗

Mike has been volunteering with The Neighbors' Place for 3 yrs. He loves volunteering at a place that is family oriented, as his daughter and sister are both TNP staff.

Mike's Why: Mike started volunteering in his "practice retirement era". He loves that TNP's flexible volunteering scheduling allows him to keep coming back even after returning to work. Mike finds joy in giving back to our community — "If you're not finding any joy in your life, you should come and do some volunteering."

Earlier this month, CCU was proud to support local youth by purchasing a hog and lamb at the Market Animal Show & Sale (MASS) at the Wisconsin Valley Fair.

Purchasing these animals is about so much more than bringing home the winning bid. The funds earned by these hardworking young exhibitors can help them continue raising and showing animals, save for college, and invest in their futures.

But the impact doesn’t stop there! 💚

Today, CCU donated all of the processed pork and lamb to The Neighbors’ Place, where it will help stock their food pantry and provide quality, locally raised meat to families throughout our community.

Supporting local youth. Helping local families. One purchase making a difference two times over. This is what community and the credit union philosophy of People Helping People is all about.

They recently came together to assemble and donate baby hygiene kits to The Babies' Place. Matching our passion for keeping local babies clean, dry, and healthy means the world to us. Knowing that our community partners care about our families just as much as we do makes all the difference.
