We did it! I am beyond thrilled to announce that we have won the election and that I will serve as the next Circuit Court Judge in Marathon County!

I appreciate all of the support I have received along the way. From those that have asked questions to me at meetings, to those that have displayed yard signs, and those that have received me at their doors to hear about my campaign, I thank you for your time and willingness to hear me out and/or offer your encouragement.

I am also so incredibly thankful to my family. This campaign required a lot of sacrifices. Time ordinarily spent with my wife and children was spent spreading the word of my candidacy. While my time campaigning was worthwhile and valuable, I am excited to take a couple of deep breaths and put my "father" hat back on.

It appears that my Investiture will occur in early September. I will be sure to spread more information about that event as it develops.

Wishing everyone in our community a peaceful and meaningful Easter! This season is an important time for many to gather with friends and family, reflect on renewal and hope, and celebrate traditions that bring people together.

I believe that the shared values of kindness, compassion, and community spirit are something we can all appreciate. I hope this Easter brings you and yours moments of joy, connection, and a fresh sense of possibility. And, of course, a little candy too!

With just less than a week to go before the election, I am firmly in the final push to become Marathon County's next Circuit Court Judge! While campaigning is time-consuming and stressful, it is also exhilarating and rewarding. I am thankful to the boat-loads of volunteers and supporters that have helped me get this far. And I am eternally grateful to my family, who have sacrificed much, to help me attain my goal.

As president of the Marathon County Bar Association, I had the pleasure of organizing and speaking at last month's portrait ceremony for retired judges Jill Falstad and Greg Grau. It was a true honor and privilege to provide them with a bit of the recognition they deserved. As a pair of litigators-turned-judges, Judges Falstad and Grau dedicated their careers to the service of the community.

One of my all-time favorite parts of campaigning has been going door-to-door to speak with voters. There is no better way to find out what matters most to the community than going directly to the source.

Unfortunately my opportunity to knock on doors was derailed a bit this weekend on account of an outrageous snowstorm.

I’ll be back to doing doors soon, once I can find my driveway!

As president of the Marathon County Bar Association, I have been working to fix a number of issues that delay and prevent justice in our court.

Marathon County is a legal desert. There are too few attorneys to handle the legal needs that exist in our community. This shortage is especially noticeable in the courtroom, as the District Attorney’s Office and Public Defender’s Office need more attorneys than they currently employ.

My vice-president, Jessica, and I have worked to fix the problem. We have coordinated with nearby law schools to demonstrate the opportunities that exist within Marathon County to soon-to-be legal graduates. We recently presented in-person at University of Wisconsin - Madison Law School. And we were also on campus at Marquette University Law School in February.

Problems do not fix themselves, and I’m proud to be in a position to improve the strength and efficiency of our courts.
