2. Tap “Notifications”
3. Scroll to the bottom → Government Alerts
4. Turn ON:
• Emergency Alerts
• Severe Alerts
• Public Safety Alerts
• AMBER Alerts
iPhones allow critical alerts to break through Do Not Disturb during emergencies.

2. Tap “Safety & Emergency”

4. Turn ON:

• Test Alerts (recommended)
5. Check Do Not Disturb
Ensure emergency alerts are allowed to override DND.

"Residents will continue to receive warnings through the Emergency Alert System (radio, TV, cable, and satellite) as well as the Wireless Emergency Alert System on your cellular devices. No registration is needed but each resident should ensure these emergency alerts are enabled in their phone settings."

Today, June 1, starts hurricane season. All the local TV and radio stations are sharing how to safely prepare. At the museum we have free handouts on preparedness and would love to share with our residents and visitors. On other posts, we will share information from our Hancock County, MS Emergency Operations Center.

Bay High visit-
Today we had Mrs. Lamier’s science class visit. They had learned about weather in class.Mrs. Lanier shared personal experiences with hurricanes so the students were well prepared! They were so well behaved, very respectful, and engaged with our exhibits! We wish them a fun and safe summer!
