A great day in Jackson County!

Today, OVRDC staff had the opportunity to conduct site visits across Jackson County to see the progress being made on projects supported in part through funding associated with our office. It was exciting to see firsthand how these investments are helping strengthen communities, improve infrastructure, and support future growth throughout the region.

🚀 We started in the City of Wellston, where Mayor Brenner shared updates on improvements at the city’s water treatment facility. We also visited the historic Louvee Theater to discuss recent funding applications and future plans for the space before stopping by the Wellston Medical Office Building, a project supported through the Appalachian Community Grant Program.

🍎 Next, Mayor Evans guided us through the City of Jackson’s downtown revitalization efforts, including waterline replacement funded through the Appalachian Regional Commission and streetscape improvements supported by the Appalachian Community Grant Program.

🏗️ We wrapped up the day with a visit to the newly constructed speculative building on General Tibbets Drive, an exciting investment that will help position Jackson County for future business and economic development opportunities.

Thank you to the mayors for taking the time to show us around, and our partners at the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership for coordinating today’s visit and for the continued collaboration happening across Jackson County!
