Today!

The Waverly Fire Department will be hosting a bicycle/wagon/stroller decorating contest for the Memorial Day Parade Monday May 25th!

There will be a $25 prize for the winner in each of 5 categories:
• Most Patriotic
• Oldest
• Youngest
• Best Overall Bike
• Best Overall Wagon/Stroller.

Judging will be held at 9:30am beside the Pike County Courthouse.

All contestants are invited to ride in the parade following the judging. The parade will kick off at 10:00am.

🚒🧪 Hazardous Materials Training in Action 🧪🚒

Firefighters from Waverly, Elm Grove, Colerain Twp (Ross Co), and Jefferson Twp (Adams Co) Fire Departments recently took part in hands-on hazardous materials (HazMat) training as part of the current Firefighter 1 Transition Course with Pike County Career & Technology Center. This training focused on sharpening their skills and enhancing their readiness to respond to complex and potentially dangerous incidents in our community. From identifying hazardous substances to practicing safe mitigation techniques, these teams continue to train hard to stay prepared for anything.

A special thank you goes out to the Pike County Emergency Management Agency for their support, including providing a valuable demonstration and the use of their portable shelter, which allowed our crews to simulate real-world scenarios in a controlled environment. Partnerships like this are essential in ensuring we can protect and serve at the highest level.
