We’ve teamed up with Tioga County Public Health to offer:

🚗 FREE Car Seat Safety Checks & Assistance
🚲 FREE Bicycle Helmets with Proper Fittings (while supplies last!)

👮 WPD will be there with a few things of our own, and we’re also excited to have some of our local Scouts joining us! ⚜️

Bring the kids, stop by after work, get those car seats checked, grab a properly fitted helmet, visit with everyone, and see what else we have going on!

Everything is FREE — and there’s no appointment needed. 🙌

🐾 UPDATE 🐾

We are happy to report that the owner of this certified good boy has been identified.

Following an investigation by the Waverly Police Department, the owner has been charged with multiple offenses related to this incident.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our original post, provided information, and helped spread the word. The response from our community played an important role in helping us bring this investigation to a resolution.

Most importantly, this very good boy is safe and being cared for. ❤️🐾

Thank you, for once again looking out for those who can’t speak for themselves.

This very good boy was recently found abandoned, tied to a pavilion at the Waverly Glen. Officers have given him plenty of pets/food/water/treats and turned him over to dog control. Please contact the Waverly Police Department via phone (607-565-2836) or Facebook messenger if you are able to help us identify his owner(s). Potential charges pending. Thank you.

The Waverly Police Department is teaming up with Tioga County Public Health for an afternoon all about keeping our littlest community members safe!

📅 Tuesday, September 2
⏰ 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Village Hall — 32 Ithaca Street Parking Lot
Tioga County Public Health will be offering:

🚗 FREE Car Seat Safety Checks & Assistance
🚲 FREE Bicycle Helmets with Proper Fittings (while supplies last)

No appointment needed — stop down, get those car seats checked, make sure the kids have properly fitted helmets, visit with us, and take advantage of these FREE safety services!

The tree removal crew was reassigned due to an emergent situation in the Midwest. The tree removal and trimming is temporarily suspended for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.

We will provide further updates when available.

📍 Friday – Lincoln Street
Work will begin Friday and may continue into Saturday.

📍 Saturday – Orange Street & Pennsylvania Avenue
Crews will possibly be working in the areas of Orange Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.

🚧 Please use caution when traveling through these areas. Residents may encounter temporary traffic interruptions, work vehicles, equipment, and crews in or near the roadway.

If possible, please avoid parking vehicles near the work areas to allow crews plenty of room to safely complete the work.

Well… that was intense. 😮‍💨

We’re happy to report that gravity appears to have been successfully restored here in Waverly following the highly anticipated 7-second “Project Anchor” event. 🌎

🐾 Happy Tails Update! 🐾

We have some wonderful news to share!

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, all of the dogs we recently posted about have officially taken their next step in life. They are all now safely in the care of organizations that will help them continue their journey.

While they haven't reached their fur-ever homes just yet, we're hopeful that each one is well on its way to finding the loving family they deserve.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bradford County Humane Society, Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, Inc., Stray Haven, and Athens Animal Hospital for helping care for these dogs. Your compassion, dedication, and teamwork made all the difference.

And finally, thank you to everyone who shared our posts, offered kind words, and helped spread the word. Every share mattered, these dogs now have the chance at the happy future they deserve.

Wishing the best of luck to 4 adults and 9 puppies, may the best homes find you.
