Beginning her journey through music and piano, Victoria Bi started learning piano at 3 and a half years old under the guidance of Yifan Liu at Studio for Piano Arts. Under Mr. Liuโs meticulous guidance and invaluable mentorship, her passion and interest in the instrument continue to expand. Ten years later, her passion for piano still grows, and every day, she hopes that her music will be able to bring a smile to someoneโs face. She fills her free time with reading action and mystery novels, composing small piano pieces, watching movies with her family, listening to varying types of music, and writing short stories.
As Piano is a large part of her life, Victoria knows how life-changing an instrument can be for a person, no matter their age, their circumstances, etc. Due to this fact, she expresses great interest in helping others be able to experience the same cathartic feeling through music that she does. Recently she had contacted a non-profit called the โTexas Music Projectโ which has various programs that work to expose disadvantaged kids to music and music education. After multiple discussions with the organizationโs co-founder, Michael Clay (who is a great musician himself), Victoria plans to participate in the future concerts and fundraising events that the organization will create. In the future, she hopes to collaborate with not only the โTexas Music Project,โ but to be able to help people of all ages and backgrounds be able to have music opportunities that will enrich their life. By playing the piano at various non-profits and charities, she enjoys spreading the joy that music brings and raising money for those who need it.
During the course of her piano studies, she has received many awards at various competitions. Most recently, she was awarded 3rd prize and special Press award at 11th International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Netherlands; 1st prize at 2022 Young Artist Competition held by Fort Worth Symphony; 3rd place at 2022 Emory University Young Artist Piano Competition; 2nd place at 2022 Dallas Symphonic Festival; 1st place at 2021 Dallas Piano Solo Competition, 2nd place at the 2021 Houston International Music Competition, 1st place in the Concerto II Division at the 2021 Baylor-Waco Piano Competition, and 3rd place at the 2021 Dallas Symphonic Festival Competition. She has participated in the Dallas Symphonic Festival Competition and the Dallas Piano Solo Competition for many years with awards.
