Are You an Active or Suspense Voter?
More than 15,000 voters in Ellis County are currently on the Suspense List. Being on the Suspense List does not mean you are ineligible to vote. It simply means your voter registration information such as your address needs to be updated or confirmed.

Important Deadline
October 5, 2026 is the last day to register to vote or make a change to your name or address in order to be eligible for the November 3, 2026 Election.
What Does Suspense Status Mean?
• If you are on the Suspense List in your current county: You may still vote. You will need to complete a Statement of Residence when voting by mail or at the polls before casting your ballot.
• If you moved to a new county and did not update your registration: During Early Voting only, you may complete a Limited Ballot application at the main early voting polling place in your new county.
• If you moved within Ellis County: You may vote using the precinct ballot style for the precinct where you previously lived. You will need to complete a Statement of Residence at the polls.
