🌀Hurricane Preparedness Week 2026

ℹ FACT: Nearly half of hurricane fatalities occur *after* the storm. Even with the storm gone, you need to remain vigilant for remaining dangers:

🔸Hot and humid conditions can occur after a hurricane; stay hydrated and take breaks during cleanup.
🔸Downed powerlines may still be live; stay away until addressed by power crews.
🔸Stay out of floodwaters; there may be dangerous wildlife, contaminants, and/or debris.
🔸Only use generators outdoors and at a minimum of 20 feet from your home; CO (carbon monoxide) is a deadly gas; have a CO detector in your home.
