💪♻️ “We do more before lunchtime than most people do all day.” – Officer Large

Today’s cleanup efforts tackled multiple illegal dump sites along 23rd Street in Kenova, with THREE separate dump locations cleared from that section alone.

✅ 3 acres reclaimed
✅ Trailer load of debris removed
✅ Another step toward a cleaner Wayne County

From dumped trash to large debris, our Litter Control Program and Community Service Workers continue putting in the hard work to restore areas that should never have been treated like dumping grounds in the first place.

These cleanups take teamwork, grit, and determination — and this crew shows up ready to work every single clean up day. We are proud of the progress being made across our county and thankful for the workers (Western Regional Day Report Center & Home Confinement led by Jeff Talbert) helping reclaim these spaces for our communities.

If you see illegal dumping, report it. Together, we can continue cleaning up Wayne County one site at a time. 👏♻️

🚧♻️ “Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.” ♻️🚧

When the new dumpster is just a little too tall… you find a way to make it work. 💪

Our Wayne County Litter Control team, led by Officer Large, along with our hardworking Community Service Workers (Western Regional Day Report Center & Home Confinement) continue to go above and beyond to help keep our county clean — no matter the challenge. From lifting heavy appliances to cleaning illegal dump sites in the summer heat, this crew shows up ready to work.

This photo may look a little funny, but it represents something important: teamwork, determination, and pride in our community. Sometimes the job requires a little creativity… and apparently a pickup truck loading ramp. 😄

Please help us thank these men for the hard work they put in behind the scenes to reclaim our roadsides, hollows, and communities one load at a time. 👏

Another productive day for the Wayne County Commission’s Litter Control Program as cleanup efforts continued across our county.

Yesterday’s cleanup locations included:

📍 Lick Log – Dunlow
• 13 REAP bags collected
• 2 appliances removed
• 2 acres reclaimed

📍 Parson Ridge – Genoa
• 10 REAP bags collected
• 6 appliances/large debris items removed
• 3 acres reclaimed

In total, crews also removed 16 tires.

These efforts were made possible through the Wayne County Commission’s Litter Control Program led by Officer Large, in collaboration with Supervisor Jeff Talbert, with valuable teamwork and support from Home Confinement and the Western Day Report Center.

Together, through partnerships and teamwork, we continue making progress in reclaiming and restoring our communities one cleanup at a time.

UPDATE on the 4-H Fun Day Event scheduled for tomorrow. It is cancelled due to inclement weather forecast for Dunlow, WV.

We are sorry for the last minute cancellation as we were hoping that things would dry up some today, but it seems that we are going to have no luck in that department.
