The Wayne Police Department would like to inform residents that AT&T subcontractors from AMDOСS and Startech will be working within the utility right-of-way in the area north and south of Army Trail Road, west of Dunham Road.

Work is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20, 2026, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

Workers will have employee co-branded identification (AMDOCS and Startech) and will be wearing safety vests, safety hats, and safety boots while performing their work.

Please be aware that these workers are not selling anything or soliciting business. They may, however, approach a residence or come to the door to notify residents that they are working around or near the property. They do not need access to your home or need you to exit the home for any reason.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the work or the individuals performing it, please contact the Wayne Police Department by calling 9-1-1.

Chief Roberts and Deputy Chief Abruzzo would like to thank Illinois State Senators DeWitte and Syverson, and Representatives Ugaste and Keicher, for the invitation to attend their First Responders Roundtable for Police and Fire.

The roundtable provided an opportunity to discuss important issues impacting first responders every day and the challenges facing our communities. Meaningful conversations like these are an important step toward developing legislation that supports and addresses the needs of those who serve.

We appreciate their commitment to listening to first responders and working together to make a difference.

**Door-to-Door Solicitors in the Village of Wayne**
The Village of Wayne regulates door-to-door soliciting to help protect the safety, privacy, and welfare of our residents.
Under the Village Code:
• Solicitors are required to obtain a permit from the Village Police Department unless specifically exempt under the ordinance (not required for religious, political or youth groups such as Girl/Boy Scouts).
• Registered solicitors must carry their certificate and display it upon request while soliciting.
• Soliciting is only permitted between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
• Solicitors must observe and respect "No Soliciting" signs. If a residence displays such a notice, they may not knock, ring the doorbell, or otherwise attempt to contact the occupants.
• If a resident asks a solicitor to leave, they must do so immediately and peacefully.

Residents are encouraged to ask anyone soliciting door-to-door to present their Village-issued permit. If a solicitor cannot produce a certificate, is soliciting outside the permitted hours, ignores a posted "No Soliciting" notice, or refuses to leave when requested, please contact the Wayne Police Department at 911.
