Last night, Chief Roberts, Deputy Chief Abruzzo, and Ofc Alcozer were honored to stand in remembrance at the Kane County Chiefs of Police Association’s Police Memorial event at the Mooseheart House of God in Batavia. Ofc Alcozer served as our candle lighter, representing the Wayne Police Department and the eternal flame that symbolizes sacrifice, courage, and the enduring memory of the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. We pause to honor their service, reflect on their bravery, and hold their loved ones in our hearts. Their legacy will never be forgotten. 💙

Wayne Village President Eileen Phipps was one of the local municipal leaders on hand with the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference that held a press conference as part of legislative advocacy efforts to protect municipalities interests related to the BUILD legislation. In addition to 14 DMMC mayors, representatives of Northwest Municipal Conference, Southwest Conference of Mayors, MetroWest Council of Governments, West Central Municipal Conference, McHenry County Council of Governments, Lake County Municipal League, and Barrington Area Council of Government attended to demonstrate support across the region. We thank President Phipps and all the leaders working to preserve local control over building and zoning regulations, which often vary significantly from one municipality to another.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the troop, who are all from Wayne Elementary School, and to Corinne W. for orchestrating this special delivery. Thank you for your generosity and for thinking of us.
