Its national Donut Day, so its only natural to post our own local former donut shop, Chums. Originally located across from St. Marys, they moved to across from the high school later on.

Holy carp! In the last 15 years, 50 million pounds of invasive carp have been removed from the Illinois River!

We join the state of Illinois in celebrating this HUGE milestone. Mass removal of invasive carp from the Illinois River is part of broader, coordinated efforts to protect our treasured Great Lakes.

One program focuses on the upper Illinois River where the population for silver and bighead carp remains steady about 50 miles from Lake Michigan, while the other offers harvest incentives to commercial fishers in the lower 240 miles.

The more invasive carp we remove, the more we reduce their harmful impacts and the risk of them reaching Lake Michigan. Thanks to these and other efforts to monitor our waters and prevent the spread of invasive carp, Illinois and more than two dozen partners are safeguarding some of our most prized native fisheries, and the Great Lakes regional economy.

Movie Night in the Square Movie Night in the Square – Summer Kickoff!
Event Space Layout Update!

This year’s movie seating will be located right on Biddle Street facing south for the best viewing experience possible! We carefully selected this setup to help keep the sun out of your eyes and create more comfortable viewing space for everyone attending.

Please plan to bring lawn chairs, cozy blankets, cushions, or anything else you’d like to sit on, as seating will be on the concrete this time around.

We’re excited to transform the street into a fun community movie space and can’t wait to enjoy a great evening together under the sky! 🍿
