Support a Scout. Support Our Community. Get a Clean Car! 🚗✨

Join us at the Preakness / Co. #4 Firehouse for a car wash fundraiser with a purpose! Sean of Scout Troop 102, along with his fellow scouts, will be rolling up their sleeves to raise funds for a meaningful community project.

All proceeds from the car wash will go toward building a gazebo for the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad, providing a much-needed space where these dedicated volunteers can rest and recharge between calls. This is Sean’s official Eagle Scout service project, marking an important milestone on his journey in Scouting.

By stopping by for a car wash, you’re doing more than shining up your vehicle, you’re supporting a hardworking first aid squad, encouraging local youth leadership, and helping Sean achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. 🦅

Come out, show your support, and be part of something that gives back to those who give so much to our community. We hope to see you there! 🚒

💐 Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

Today we celebrate the incredible moms who keep our families, our station, and our community strong. Whether you’re a firefighter mom, the spouse of a volunteer, a dispatcher, or a mom cheering us on from home, your strength, sacrifice, and love never go unnoticed.

From all of us at Preakness Volunteer Fire Company, we wish you a safe, joyful, and well‑deserved Mother’s Day! 🚒🌸

We’re proud to celebrate International Firefighters Day alongside our many dedicated brothers and sisters who run towards danger - be it a structure fire, vehicle accident, or hazmat incident. 🚒🧑‍🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒🧯

From participating in parades, to drills at the burn building… from teaching youngsters during Fire Prevention Week, to dealing with real emergencies - these are just a few of the many hats worn by Preakness Volunteer Fire Company #4.

Firefighting is about readiness, education, tradition, teamwork, and showing up whenever our community needs us - in big moments and at small events alike.

Today, we humbly request you express your appreciation by giving a firefighter you know a hug (real or virtual). 🤗 If you live in a community served by volunteers, please give generously when donation mailings come around… or if you see them in-person during a boot drive. When supporting your local volunteers, every little bit helps us continue doing what we do best: serving you. 🇺🇸

On this May 4th, may the force… and the water pressure be with our firefighters, always. 😉🔥💦

🚒🇺🇸 Honoring a Local Business Legend! 🇺🇸🚒

Last Sunday, members of Preakness Volunteer Fire Company #4 were proud to raise the American flag from our aerial ladder in celebration of a very special milestone: 50 years of Brother Bruno's Pizza, Deli & Bagels! 🍕

For five decades, Brother Bruno’s has been more than just great food, they’ve been an integral part of the community, bringing people together and supporting local causes along the way. We were honored to help mark this golden anniversary and salute a business that has truly stood the test of time.

Congratulations to the entire Brother Bruno’s family on 50 amazing years, and here’s to many more! 🎉✨

🇺🇸⚾ Ready to "Play Ball!" at Dotterweich Field ⚾🇺🇸
We were honored to fly the American flag for Opening Day of Little League baseball at Dotterweich Field. It’s always a privilege for the Preakness Volunteer Fire Company (Wayne Co #4) to support our local youth and be part of moments that bring our community together.

The day was even more exciting with a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Met, adding to the fun and smiles for players and families alike!

Good luck to all the players, coaches, and families as the season begins. Play hard, have fun, and make some great memories!

Shortly after 12:30 AM, Truck 4 answered a Mutual Aid request from the City of Paterson, as a 5 alarm blaze stretched city resources overnight.

Originally dispatched to fight another structure fire in Paterson, our crew was redirected while en route and assigned to Riverside Fire Station to stand by for Ladder #3, ensuring continued coverage as crews battled the multiple-alarm incident.

Mutual Aid responses like this ensure that residents are never left without coverage, even during large scale emergencies. We’re proud to support our neighboring departments and communities, working side by side to keep everyone safe, day or night. ❤️🧑‍🚒

It's Throwback Thursday! 🔥📜🚒📸

For today’s , we’re sharing something a little different - an old Herald-News article from January 7, 1982 that captures a powerful moment in Wayne Fire Department history.

The article tells the story of three Wayne firefighters who, on December 18, 1981, rescued a 92‑year‑old woman from an upstairs window during a raging house fire. Courage, teamwork, and selflessness were on full display that day. The three were recommended for "Fireman of the Year" honors.

One of those firefighters was former member Tony Ronchetti, whom we recently lost. Seeing his name in print all these years later is a moving reminder of the kind of firefighter, and person, he was. He'll always be part of Company 4’s legacy. 👨🏻‍🚒
