Mark your Calendars: local historian Jim Segrave-Daly is back this summer celebrating America 250 with three fascinating historical talks at the Finley House (113 W. Beechtree Ln), complete with homemade ice cream, ginger cookies, and lemonade!

Our Youth Services staff are currently working with Ksenya Wong from Artful Wellness (and Miss Philadelphia's Teen 2026) to collect crayon donations for The Crayon Initiative, a nonprofit organization that works to recycle old crayons and redistribute them to children in hospitals.

We have a donation box for crayons (and broken crayon pieces!) set up to the right of our circulation desk in front of the youth services window, for those who wish to support this initiative.

SAVE THE DATE: Join us on June 14th for our 27th annual Chanticleer Lecture: Join JEFF EPPING as he delves into his new book, co-authored with award-winning garden writer Teresa Woodard, exploring the art of gravel gardening. This naturalistic movement offers beauty, resilience, and a promising future for ecological landscaping.

Jeff will share his insights and those of leading naturalistic designers, as well as practical techniques for various scales and applications, from intimate home settings to small and larger public and commercial spaces. If you want to create more beauty with less work, provide a haven for pollinators and other animals, or simply garden in a way that’s kinder to the earth, we invite you to explore the possibilities of gravel gardening with Jeff.

Pull out your ballgowns and bowties and celebrate prom season with your most adorable prom date! Music, dancing, sensory play, crafts, light refreshments, and of course, precious photo ops for families of babies and toddlers ages 0-3 (siblings also welcome). Theme: Rockin’ 80s.
