Today marks the end of part 1 of a journey none of us ever imagined Dave and his family would be facing. We want to thank everyone for the incredible love, support, meals, messages, prayers, and check-ins throughout these past 6 weeks of treatment. The outpouring of support from our fire service family, friends, and community has meant more than words can express. 💙

Now begins part 2: recovery. The next 6–8 weeks will bring new challenges, but Dave and his family continue to face them with strength, hope, and gratitude — taking it one day at a time. We ask that you continue to keep them in your thoughts and stand beside them through the road ahead.

As Dave focuses on healing and recovery, we ask that you continue to support him and his family however you can. Please consider attending the Standing With Dave Pig Roast BBQ Benefit or making a donation. Every ticket purchased, every share, and every donation truly makes a difference.

Today the B Platoon spent the day training on aerial operations and apparatus positioning while preparing to hang bunting from the station in honor of Memorial Day.

While the project took a little longer than expected, it turned into a valuable opportunity to sharpen our ladder placement skills, practice truck positioning, and reinforce safe aerial operations. Training opportunities like these help ensure our crews remain ready for the challenges we face on the fireground while also taking pride in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

D Platoon had a busy 24 hours yesterday, answering the multiple calls for service during tour.

Just before 4 PM, Radnor Fire & EMS responded to the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Spring Mill Road for a reported multi-vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Crews arrived to find five vehicles involved, including one overturned. Thankfully, the occupant of the overturned vehicle was able to self-extricate prior to our arrival. Firefighters and EMS personnel remained on scene until all vehicles were safely cleared from the roadway.

Only hours later, at 12:13 AM, Radnor Fire Company was dispatched to the 800 block of Lesley Road for a reported attic fire in a large 2½-story single-family residence. Arriving Radnor Township Police officers confirmed heavy fire through the roof with all occupants safely outside, prompting an immediate working fire dispatch.

First arriving crews initiated an aggressive interior attack while additional firefighters worked to open ceilings and contain the rapidly spreading fire. Due to the volume of fire, the incident escalated to a 2nd and eventually a 3rd alarm. The fire was placed under control around 2 AM, with crews remaining on scene until after 5 AM completing overhaul and extinguishment operations.

Approximately 100 firefighters from Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties assisted on scene. Thank you to all mutual aid partners for the tremendous teamwork and support throughout the incident.

This weekend, our flags fly at half-staff in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

We pause to remember the brave men and women of the fire service who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we honor their memory this weekend, we also stand with the families, friends, and departments who continue to carry their legacy forward.

May we never forget those who gave all in service to others. 🇺🇸🔥

B Platoon spent time today sharpening the fundamentals that make the fireground run efficiently — pumping operations, water movement, and timed drill evolutions.

Crews focused on building speed, consistency, and confidence in getting water where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. From pump operations to coordinated water flow, today’s training was all about mastering the basics that support every fireground operation.

Reps matter. Speed matters. Water wins.

Training hard to stay ready.

For nearly three decades, Dave Panetta has answered the call—serving his community with humility, dedication, and unwavering commitment.

From starting as a junior firefighter in 1998 with Friendship Fire Company, to serving as Fire Chief, Deputy Chief of the Royersford Fire Department, and now Battalion Chief with Radnor Fire Company, Dave has spent his life protecting others. His service has reached across multiple organizations and communities.

Now, Dave is facing one of the toughest battles of his life.

In March 2026, Dave was diagnosed with aggressive colorectal cancer and has begun a long and difficult road of treatment. After years of putting others first, answering emergencies, and serving without hesitation, Dave is now facing one of the unfortunate long-term risks of the fire service.

Now it’s our turn to stand with him.

Please consider supporting Dave and his family by attending the Standing With Dave Pig Roast BBQ Benefit or making a donation. Every ticket purchased, every share, and every donation helps support Dave as he focuses on treatment and recovery.

Dave has spent his life showing up for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
