Campus Security at Wayne State College Our goal is to provide a safe and secure learning, working and living environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors to our campus.

Wayne State College Campus Security is responsible for the safety and security of the campus community. Campus Security Officers and/or officers of the Wayne Police Department respond to incidents on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Security Officers are employees of Wayne State College and as such do not have arrest powers. We are trained in first-aid, CPR, criminal investigation, and de

fensive tactics. The full-time staff consists of a certified law enforcement officer (Director of Security), a Crime Prevention Officer and a Patrol Officer. In addition, there is a part-time Patrol Officer and four part-time Safety Patrol Officers plus an officer of the Wayne Police Department. Campus Security shares dispatch services with the Wayne Police Department and works closely with municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

From College Relations:

Due to inclement weather, the College will continue to be closed all day today, Jan. 9, through 5 a.m. Jan. 10. This includes all classes and activities unless otherwise noted below.

• Food service, residence halls, and the Student Center will remain open. Food service will be limited to the Student Center. Campus dining in the main dining hall will close at 8 p.m. today and Cats Corner will close at 7:30 p.m. today. Einsteins will remain closed until normal hours on Jan. 10.

• The Rec Center will reopen at 12:30 p.m. today and will close at 6 p.m. today.

No parking is allowed on campus streets until 7 a.m. Jan. 10. If you come to campus today, you should park in either Lot 5 or Lot 7.

Supervisors will identify the staff who are essential to report during this time period.

Please check for possible additional announcements regarding any updates or extensions of the closure.

ATTENTION: All Campus Faculty, Staff, and Students:

Greetings,

With more snow in the forecast, the City of Wayne has declared a snow emergency.

According to a release from the City of Wayne page, this will be for all city streets other than the downtown area beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 8.

During a snow emergency, no parking is allowed on the streets. A snow emergency for the downtown area will begin at 5 p.m. Monday evening.

The snow emergency will likely last into at least part of the day on Tuesday with high winds in the forecast.

Greetings,

Due to inclement weather, the College has canceled all classes and activities beginning at noon today (Wednesday, Jan. 18) through 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19. Food service, residence halls, Rec Center, and Student Center will remain open. Food service hours will be normal today. The main dining hall will open at 8 a.m. Thursday. The lower cafeteria and Einstein’s will open as soon as they are able Thursday.

The College remains open for normal business operations and services will continue. The Library will remain open until 10 p.m. tonight and have normal hours Thursday. The Rec Center will close at 9 p.m. tonight and reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday. Hours may be altered depending on conditions.

No parking is allowed on campus streets from 10 p.m. today to 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

Due to the expected incoming snow storm, City of Wayne, Nebraska - Government has declared a Snow Emergency starting at midnight tonight until noon on Thursday, January 19th for parking on all streets in Wayne.

All vehicles shall be removed from the street to allow the street crew to remove snow the entire width of the city streets.
