Meet Florence…..
I was first Inspired to join the squad when I saw the signs that members were needed and was curious. Then I thought it would be a great way to serve my community and also connect with people - being new to the town, moved here in December 2019 with a fully remote job, I hardly have opportunities to know my town and its people so this seemed like a great way to win both ways: serving and getting to know my town.

The most rewarding part is taking care of patients, especially those who are scared. I enjoy being that reassuring presence in the patients moment of need/ fear.

Outside of the squad I enjoy sewing, knitting and crotchet. I love to read non- fiction - mainly on human behavior and anthropology.

Our volunteers go above and beyond, providing coverage for our town, assisting surrounding communities, and supporting large-scale events. Most recently, they helped at MetLife Stadium during the last FIFA game, bringing our MAB to support the NJ EMS Task Force.

Meet David…

I had been an EMT for several years before moving to Wayne, and when I relocated, I wanted to continue serving the community. Joining the first aid squad gave me the opportunity to keep helping people and give back to the town.

The most rewarding part of being on the squad is the teamwork and camaraderie that comes from working alongside our police and fire departments. Every call is a coordinated effort between different agencies, and I enjoy being part of a team that comes together to support our community when it needs us most.

Outside of the squad, I enjoy exploring my interest in communications technology by tinkering with radios and learning how different systems work. I also enjoy hiking, spending time outdoors, and traveling whenever I have the opportunity.

Our ASAP was at the Op sail 250 in Jersey City. Liberty State Park over the weekend. Thanks to the volunteers who went.

🎆 While everyone enjoyed the spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky, the dedicated volunteers of the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad were on duty—ready to respond if help was needed.

Community events like this take a team effort, and we’re proud to stand by to help keep everyone safe so families can focus on making memories.

Meet Chiara……

I joined the first aid squad in 2021 during covid to learn new skills and help out in the community.

The most rewarding part is being able to help someone through the worst moments of their life. Another amazing part is being able to hang out with people all the time doing the things I love.

Outside the squad, I work full time as an EMT and am in school. I enjoy trying new coffee places and exploring random places.
