Go Go Washington Township, it's Morphin' Time!!! 💪💪💪 Happy Friday!!

In case you didn't know, it's National Power Ranger Day. 🦹‍♂️🦹‍♀️

We asked Chief Wolfgang if we could trade in patrol cars for a Tyrannosaurus Dinozord. He gave us a long look🙄🙄 and said something about "what would we feed it",🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ so we compromised and got a Jungle Fury Battle Bike Instead.... SWEET🏍️🏍️!!

And hey, even the Power Rangers used hands-free Wrist Communicators—they were definitely onto something back in the day. 📱🚫 Keep those hands on the wheel and off the phones while driving today!

Even without the Megazord, our patrols are powered up and read to protect & serve. Let's have a great day and "May the Power protect you"!!!

***COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION***

The Washington Township Police Department responded to Red Run Park, 12143 Buchanan Trail E., Waynesboro, on Monday, August 24, 2026, at approximately 4:24 p.m. for a report of indecent exposure involving a male subject near the playground area. (WTPD2026-07225)

Upon arrival, responding officers located the male subject at the park and conducted an investigation. The information gathered indicated that the subject had been engaged in inappropriate public conduct; however, the offense was not personally witnessed by the responding officers.

Under Pennsylvania law, certain offenses must be committed in the presence of a police officer in order for an officer to make an on-scene arrest without a warrant. Because the responding officers did not personally witness the violation, an immediate on-scene arrest could not be made. The incident remains under investigation, and appropriate charges are pending based on the evidence gathered.

The Washington Township Police Department understands the concern this incident has caused within the community, particularly because it occurred in a public park area used by families and children. We want to reassure residents that the safety of our community is taken with the utmost seriousness. At this time, there is no known active threat to the public. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and encourage anyone with additional information related to this incident to contact the Washington Township Police Department.
