On Tuesday, June 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. the Waynesboro-Wayne County Library is planning to add a little MAGIC to the fun that you can always find at your library. PALEO PALOOZA – DIG IN FOR DINO-SIZED FUN, featuring magic, puppets, storytelling and lots of fun is an interactive program for children presented by award winning entertainer, Dorian LaChance. All children must be pre-registered for the summer reading program by applying for a library card. Lunch will be served after the program at noon. In order to obtain a free library card, parents should bring a photo i.d. (Driver's license) and a piece of mail that has a postmark on the front of the envelope dated within the last thirty days.
Dorian and the kids at the library will explore many topics relating to dinosaurs and paleontology as a part of this summer’s national reading theme, Unearth A Story. Come see this amazing show that encourages kids to read for fun AND learning!
Based in Madison, MS, Dorian LaChance is an educator, comedian, magician, puppeteer and storyteller who travels all over the southeast performing programs that encourage kids to read. He has won numerous awards including the People’s Choice Award for KIDabra International and international organization dedicated to children and family entertainers.
“I believe that reading opens the door to learning about everything else in life. That’s why all my school and library programs encourage reading,” says LaChance, who has been a professional performer since 2009. An avid reader himself, LaChance performs about 200 shows each year in schools and libraries and at special events all over the Southeast.
