🚑♥️🚒Right after our Carnival finished, our members attended Waynesboro First Aid Crew’s Annual Skills Drill. This is the third year they have invited us to participate, and we are grateful for the opportunity to train alongside their providers and learn from their experience. We value the strong working relationship we have built with our neighboring transport agency and appreciate their continued partnership.🚑♥️🚒

As we reflect on this past week as we are cleaning up from our June 2026 Annual Fireman’s Carnival, I would like to thank and recognize the following:

To our community, thank you for your support. Without this event, we would not produce the funds needed to continue the level of service we provide.

Thank you to the City of Waynesboro for providing a lot to use for our event.

Thank you to the Waynesboro Police Department and the Waynesboro Sheriff’s Office for providing us with officers to keep the community safe while they enjoyed the event.

I also want to thank our volunteers. During this week of setup, operations, and tear down, our volunteers worked tirelessly to put this event on. They also answered the following 19 calls for service during this same week.

1 Fire Alarm
3 Motor Vehicle Crashes
2 Air Medical Landing Zones
2 Trees Down
9 Medical Emergencies
1 Possible Structure Fire
1 Vehicle Fire

Between 2 and 8 certified volunteers responded to each of these calls. We answered 14 of these calls with a 100% volunteer response. We received supplemental career staff assistance from Augusta County for the other 5 calls, with 2 or more certified volunteers responding with them for 3 of those calls.

These volunteers showed their dedication. They gave up most or all of their entire week to raise funds for the fire company, just to continue to be able to operate as a tax saving organization for this county.

Over the past two months, our training focused on the fundamentals. With the addition of five new probationary members in recent months, it was the perfect opportunity to get back to the basics and ensure everyone has a strong foundation.🚒

One of our requirements for full membership is CPR certification, and we’re proud to have completed CPR training with three of our new members so far.♥️

We also conducted fire extinguisher training, covering the different types of extinguishers, the classes of fires they are designed for, and the PASS method: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep.🧯

Thank You to our neighboring sister station and Chief Anderson for providing us with some of their fabulous funnel cakes after a busy evening handling calls from the storm. They never disappoint and are always delicious.

😎UPDATE: As of 7:06PM, we are opening! The rides are all being dried off now! We are opening the ticket booth in the next 5-10 minutes! We are starting to heat up our grills and fryers right now!😎
