The deadline to pay 2023 delinquent property taxes is:

Wednesday, August 26, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

Payments must be received by the deadline at:
Wayne County Chancery Clerk’s Office
609 Azalea Drive
Waynesboro, MS

If payment is not received by the deadline, the property may be forfeited to the tax-sale purchaser.

Wayne County Courthouse Holiday Closure & Garbage Collection Notice

The Wayne County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.

Please note that garbage collection will not run on Friday, July 3, 2026. Friday’s garbage route will be collected on the following Friday.

We wish everyone a safe, happy, and enjoyable Independence Day weekend.

Please note that setting up for rummage sales this weekend is NOT permitted🚫
The Wayne County Courthouse is blocked off for the Whistle Spot Festival and Car Show!!

Rummage sales may resume next weekend 4/25/2026.
You may come next week to the Sheriff's Office and get a permit to set up.

Reminders:
⏺️Everyone must be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. keep the parking lot clean!!!
⏺️Everyone must be responsible for renewing their permits.
⏺️Permits may be requested for a year.
⏺️Permits must be in your possession if a deputy checks for them.
⏺️City of Waynesboro Permits do not apply to the Courthouse Square, as the Sheriff is over the Courthouse Grounds.
