Bide-a-Wee Plantation

Bide-a-Wee Plantation Historic Home to the Green, Fulcher, Williams and Waldrop Families Plantation home of a number of prominent Burke County families.

Became the Greens Cut Community after the Central of Georgia Railroad was extended through the property in the 1850's. Was the winter camp for General Joseph Johnston in 1865. Home to Captain Willie Fulcher, hero of the Spanish American War. Site of the 1924 Georgia State Rotary Club Convention.

On this date in 1791, President George Washington passed through what would become Bide-A-Wee Plantation en route to Augusta. He stopped for breakfast at the Fulcher Place near McBean Creek.
