🚧 Public Service Announcement: Planned Road Closures for the Annual Butterfly Run 🚧
The Waynesboro Police Department would like to notify the community of temporary road closures tomorrow, June 6th, 2025, in connection with the Annual Butterfly Run. Closures will begin at 7:30 a.m. and remain in place until the event concludes at approximately 10:30 a.m.

This year’s run has a large number of pre‑registered participants, and these short-term closures are necessary to ensure the safety of runners, volunteers, and children participating in the fun run. The Butterfly Run is a cherished event that helps support local families with children facing life‑altering illnesses, and we appreciate your cooperation in making it safe and successful.

🚫 Hurricane Hills Community Traffic Restrictions
During peak runner traffic:

Vehicles will not be able to exit Hurricane Hills via Joe Sevier Drive or Hurricane Hills Drive into Hurricane Meadows.

All vehicles leaving the Hurricane Hills area must exit via Herbert Gallian Drive to Mink Branch Road, then proceed toward either Mink Branch Acres or Mount Hope Road.

No vehicles will be allowed into Hurricane Meadows during the initial run period except in emergencies.

In the event of an emergency, personnel will be stationed at the bottom of Hurricane Hills Drive and Joe Sevier Drive to assist and direct you.

🚗 Highway 64 Bypass & Highway 13 Ramp
Vehicles will not be permitted to turn up the Highway 64 Bypass from the red light or pass the Highway 13 Ramp coming down the Bypass.

Motorists will be detoured through town unless traveling to Piggly Wiggly or Tractor Supply area.

An officer will be stationed at the entrance of Guadalajara Restaurant to help customers safely enter and exit the parking lot.

🙏 Thank You for Your Cooperation
We understand these closures may cause minor inconvenience, but they will only last a few hours. All roadways will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

We ask everyone traveling through Waynesboro during these times to:

Drive slowly

Watch for runners

Follow the directions of officers and volunteers

Please also help us maintain safety by not moving cones, barricades, or detour signs. Tampering with traffic control devices is a criminal offense and puts others at risk.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of this meaningful community event.
