Ride in the Valley Veterans Ride for Heroes on September 12th and spend the weekend in the destination town of Staunton, VA. Acclaimed as one of the "Best small towns in America", Staunton is a town full of charming historical architecture, where you can enjoy outdoor dining at noteworthy restaurants, take in a play at the Blackfriars Theater of the American Shakespeare Center, or visit museums such as the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum and the Frontier Culture Museum. The 29th Division Museum up the road in Verona is an excellent military history museum which displays the history of the Augusta Militia and National Guard back to the 1740's.

Why do we ride? We ride to help our fellow combat veterans who struggle with the trauma they experienced in wartime. We are thrilled to have the sponsorship support of fellow Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Posts. across the Department of Virginia. Today, we thank the Francis Cannon VFW Post 7589 in Manassas as a Colonel level sponsor along with VFW Post 2424 Waynesboro and VFW Post 8644 Bridgewater, VA. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3103 Fredericksburg supports at the Captain level. The Tidewater VFW Post 4809 joined the SGT Nicholas C. Mason Memorial Post 12202 in King George, Virginia in not only being sponsors, but to also field a team of riders!

Why We Ride: A few days ago, one of America's combat veterans who went through the Boulder Crest Foundation Warrior PATHH, told me that "Boulder Crest saved my life. I was on the path to becoming part of the statistic of 22 a day and Warrior PATHH saved me. What you are doing with the Valley Veterans Ride for Heroes enables veterans like me to access the BCF post-traumatic growth programs, which are life-saving."

So often, we hear people say "Thank you for your service." Or businesses and organizations that advertise that they support our veterans. The Valley Veterans Ride for Heroes is a practical way to show that you really mean it. All funds raised by us go to Boulder Crest Foundation, enabling combat veterans with war trauma to get the help they need.
