☕️✨ Welcome to the StarBOOKS Poetry Café! ✨☕️
Our 4th and 5th-grade students in Mrs. Cash’s Language Arts class wrapped up their poetry unit in the most delicious way possible today!
To celebrate all of their hard work, Mrs. Cash’s room transformed into a cozy coffee shop. Students were treated to a special "iced coffee with vanilla sweet cream cold foam" (aka chocolate milk with whipped cream! 🍫🥛).
Over the last few weeks, our young poets dived deep into the world of verse. Centered around Sharon Creech’s beloved novels, Love That Dog and Hate That Cat, students explored:
Different types and structures of poetry
Famous poets and their unique styles
How to express deep emotions through words
For the grand finale, students chose a poem that reflected their favorite style, stepped up to the microphone, and bravely shared their choices with the class. We are so incredibly proud of their creativity, confidence, and public speaking skills!
