The extension office (who were going to do our program for summer reading tomorrow) has let us know that they are watching tomorrow's weather closely for storms expected during our program time. If they cancel, we will post ASAP so you are aware. Everyone's safety is our top priority!

We had a great time at the first week of summer reading: Unearth a Story! We broke some dinosaurs out of their ice eggs, colored some dinosaurs for our bulletin board, read about how to catch a dinosaur, and got our faces painted! 😄

We are beyond thrilled to announce that a new Librarian Director has been hired! Everyone give a warm welcome to Angela West! She will be starting later in the summer and in the meantime, we will be looking for a new board member.
*This will not be an office holding position. The library board meets the second Thursday night of each month for an hour for board meetings.

Looking forward to seeing the kids at 2:00 for our first summer reading! Also a reminder: middle/high school students and adults can also come pick up a reading log at any point to fill out for the summer!

We are so excited to start summer reading next Wednesday the 10th and see the kids again!
**For the second week of summer reading-June 17th (planting microgreens with 4-H) they need at least 5 kids registered to move forward with that program so if you are planning on coming to summer reading that week please use the website below and register your kids! It would be very much appreciated!

As part of our commitment to providing equal opportunities in our programming, University of Illinois Extension is required to collect and report overall statistics about the race, ethnicity, and gender of program participants. Your responses are voluntary and appreciated.

If you want to pre-register your kids for VBS at the Methodist church this summer, you can do so at the library! We have the sheet to fill out and you can leave it with us for Sherie Ross to pick up! It'll be a fun time! 😊
