The Board of Selectmen is committed to providing a safe, respectful environment for Town employees, residents, and visitors. Unfortunately, over the past few months, Town employees have experienced incidents of inappropriate behavior, including verbal abuse, threats and assaults. Such conduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. To help maintain a safe workplace and public environment, the Town has posted the attached signage at the Town Office and Chase Park. Similar signage will also be installed at the Transfer Station. The Board appreciates the cooperation of all residents and visitors in treating Town employees and one another with courtesy and respect. Thank you.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2026 FROM 9 AM TO 1 PM. Please see notice for details. Tree work is being done at one of the cemeteries and will need to have the crane in the road to remove some of the trees. Once the trees are down safely, the roadway will be reopened. The Town is working on updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan, which require a series of meetings to develop the Plan over the next few months. Weare citizens are invited to participate. Starting today, Avitar Associates will be out performing the final field reviews in preparation of the 2026 Revaluation. Preliminary notices of values will be mailed out late August. They will be in a White Honda CRV marked with Municipal Assessor/Avitar Associates with a yellow light. If you have any questions please call or email the Selectmen's Office. Thank you.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! The Transfer Station (Weare DPW) will be open regular hours on Friday, July 3rd but CLOSED SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2026. We will reopen on Tuesday, July 7th. The Town would like to wish everyone a safe and happy July 4th holiday.

A ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCE! Weare Historical Society presents "Ring a Bell to Celebrate America's 250th!". Ring the Town Hall Bell or North Weare School House Bell. Saturday, July 4th, 2026, 10 AM to 2 PM, 6 North Stark Highway. First come, first serve. Certificates will be handed out as a remembrance of you ringing the bell. Come be part of our history.
