Christmas Tyme in Aledo was a huge success this year. As always, holding a major event crossing a busy rail line and a state highway presents major challenges to keep everyone safe. The Parker County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit had 12 deputies working the event to safeguard everyone celebrating the wonders of the Christmas Season. The men and women of the reserve unit are all Texas Peace Officers that donate their time to serve the citizens of Parker County throughout the year. All of us wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas as we look forward to serving in 2026.

Please join us in congratulating Ed Kardauskas on his recent retirement.
Kardauskas has been a Parker County Reserve sergeant for six years.
Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said although Sgt. Kardauskas will be missed as a faithful member of the reserves unit, Sgt. Kardauskas will continue to volunteer as an instructor for courses catering to both the public and local law enforcement officers.
Sgt. Kardauskas came to Parker County with more than 20-years of law enforcement experience with White Plains New York Police Department. He started his law enforcement career in 1974 and retired from White Plains New York Police Department in 1994.
“He started with our reserve unit in 2019, and has proven to be a valuable asset to our agency and community,” said Sheriff Authier.
Sgt. Kardauskas accumulated more than 3,700 hours of training throughout his career, serving in a variety of positions. He retires as a master peace officer and a certified Texas Commission on Law Enforcement instructor.
This agency and our community are fortunate to continue to rely on him as an instructor for the state-mandated K-9 officer course and for his community safety awareness course, “B-Safe.”
PCSO Reserve Capt. Rick Campbell said the unit could always count on Kardauskas when planning for local events and he never missed volunteering for a single event.
“Our unit won’t feel the same without him,” said PCSO Reserve Capt. Campbell. “From the time Ed joined the Reserve Unit, he has demonstrated the value of his law enforcement background and training. From working on policies to supporting the many events the Reserve Unit participates in, he has always made himself available.”
Capt. Campbell went on to state Ed’s dedication to the Sheriff’s Office and citizens of Parker County has been evident through his efforts as a law enforcement instructor as well as training our citizens through his B-Safe program presentations.
Sgt. Kardauskas created the B-Safe program for the community focusing on home and personal protection.
“Protection of the home, around vehicles, and for persons going out and about in public, walking and jogging are the foundational understanding [of personal safety],” said Sgt. Kardauskas, who desires to arm citizens with basic personal safety and preventative measures.
He went on to say he wants to leave attendees with everything they need to create their own viable personal security plans after attending a B-Safe event.
In his tenure, Sgt. Kardauskas has taught thousands of citizens and law enforcement officers. His focus has always been and will continue to be centered on the safety of the officers and deputies he works with and the citizens of his community.
“All of us at the Reserve Unit will miss Ed and wish him the best in his retirement.
Thank you, Sgt. Kardauskas for a job well-done, for your faithful service in the law enforcement field and for your dedication to your community.
Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Kardauskas on his retirement and thank him for his service and duties well-accomplished.
