Celebrating Our Summer 2026 Volunteers of the Month! 💙
We are so grateful for the incredible volunteers who give their time, talents, and hearts to Connections Food & Resource Center! Today, we’re excited to recognize three very special volunteers from May, June, and July. 🎉
🌟 May – Bryan Cook
Bryan is a true behind-the-scenes hero! As a local Weatherfordian, he continually lends his time and talents to help take care of our building and grounds. We appreciate Bryan so much and are incredibly thankful for the hard work, effort, and care he pours into Connections. Thank you, Bryan, for always being willing to help!
🌟 June – Michael Munkirs
Michael is a SWOSU pharmacy student who somehow finds time to volunteer while putting in those long hours at school! Whether we need a Shopping Assistant or warehouse help, Michael is always willing to jump in wherever he’s needed. He is definitely one of our young guns, and he helps us tremendously! Thank you, Michael, for sharing your time and energy with us!
🌟 July – Wood Garner & Melanie DeFehr
Our July Volunteers of the Month are a wonderful brother-sister duo! Along with their other volunteer ventures, Wood and Melanie are always a welcome addition to our team. They bring smiles, great attitudes, and genuine, caring hearts to everything they do—especially when it comes to loving on and serving our clients. ❤️
Wood and Melanie proudly represent our Weatherford volunteer community, and we are so thankful to have them on our team!

We had the sweetest team on Saturday from First Baptist Church-Schmidt Life Group in Weatherford blessing our neighbors in the best way by helping shop, serving with smiles, and working hard in our (very warm!) warehouse! ☀️💪 Serving their neighbors by giving up their Saturday morning.
Because of their amazing hearts and willingness to jump in, we were able to make a real difference for families in need.

Today was a beautiful reminder of what community looks like in action.
Thanks to the amazing team from Devon Energy, Weatherford, more than 70 of our neighbors were able to shop at Connections and take-home groceries to help feed their families for the week. Your energy, enthusiasm, and servant hearts filled our building with joy.
For many years, Devon Energy, Weatherford has stood beside Connections in countless ways, investing in our mission and helping us make a difference throughout Western Oklahoma. Today's volunteer team continued that tradition with smiles, hard work, compassion, and a genuine desire to serve others.
To every member of the Devon Energy team who gave their time today: thank you. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and serve, brought hope. Devon Energy
