This is just a friendly reminder that Willhite Furniture and Sleep Gallery will be holding their quarterly organization donation event tomorrow, Saturday, October 26th. Their store hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Greenwood Rural VFD was selected to be showcased this quarter at their store located at 1501 Ft. Worth Hwy in Weatherford. Please come out to show your support and meet some of our department firefighters and auxiliary members.

The Cool-Garner Volunteer Fire Department has applied for annexation into the Parker County Emergency Services District No 7. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Early voting starts on Monday, October 21, 2013. If you reside in the Parker County ESD 7 district, please remember to vote YES on Propositions 1 & 2 that will be on the ballot. By voting YES for both propositions, you will allow the residents in the Cool-Garner Fire District to annex into Emergency Services District 7. Thank you for your continued support!

Our 2013 Greenwood Rural VFD Community Appreciation BBQ Dinner was a huge success yesterday. We had a great turnout and alot of fun festivities for the entire family despite the rain and cooler weather. We want to thank everyone for coming out to attend the event in support of the Greenwood Rural VFD.

Annual Fall Community Appreciation BBQ
Saturday, October 5th, 4:00 to 7:30 p.m.
1418 Greenwood Cut-Off Road, Weatherford, TX 76088

This year’s BBQ is shaping up to be a great event. We will have the usual outstanding BBQ dinner catered by 2 Outlaws BBQ and all kinds of activities for the whole family. At 6:00 pm we will have the door prize drawing – these are by far the very best door prizes we have ever had! Help us celebrate our new ISO rating of a “5” which will be effective Jan 1st, 2014. More on that topic at the event!

We will have many of the same attractions we have had in the past – Carter BloodCare Blood Drive, Parker County Cruisers Antique Car Show, The Kid’s Sq**rt, Fire Clowns, Southern Heritage Band, Pumpkin Painting, Air Evac Helicopter, Fire Extinguisher Demonstration, Search and Rescue Dog Demonstration and many other activities. This year we are starting a new tradition – an annual fallen firefighter ceremony. We will be honoring the 23 Texas firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities so far this year and we will also honor Greenwood’s fallen.

Make sure you bring the whole family and be prepared to have a great time!
