TEMPORARY BURN BAN SUSPENSION

The Parker County Burn Ban will be temporarily suspended for the following three days:

• Friday, October 2
• Saturday, October 3
• Sunday, October 4

While recent rainfall has moderately improved conditions, not all areas of Parker County received the same amount of rainfall. The countywide average KBDI remains above 575 as of October 1, and dry conditions still exist.

If you choose to burn during this temporary suspension, please use caution and follow all applicable TCEQ outdoor burning regulations.

• Burning must be conducted during allowable daytime hours — no burning at night.
• Fires must be attended and controlled at all times, with an adequate water source readily available.
• Only materials legally allowed by TCEQ may be burned.
• Do not burn when weather or wind conditions make it unsafe.
• As always, you are responsible for your fire and any damage caused if it gets out of control.

We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the weekend and reassess the status of the burn ban as conditions change.

Please burn responsibly and consider the conditions in your specific area before burning.

🚒 September Call Volume Update 🚑

September 2026 brought 78 calls for service, compared to 54 in September 2025 — a 44.4% increase.

Year-to-date, we’ve handled 695 calls, compared to 545 at this time last year.

Every call represents a neighbor, a family, or a member of our community who needed us. We remain committed to serving with Preparedness • Respect • Initiative • Duty • Empathy.

Parker County ESD 6 is proud to be a part of the District 16 Fire Academy, and especially proud of the contribution our firefighters are making as instructors.

Several ESD 6 firefighters had the opportunity to lead hands-on instruction for volunteer firefighters from across District 16, covering hose deployment, flowing water, flowing water from a ladder, hose and nozzle operations, and other critical fireground skills.

Our firefighters aren’t just answering calls — they are sharing their knowledge, experience, and skills with the next generation of firefighters. Being able to teach and mentor others is an important responsibility, and our ESD 6 instructors represented our department exceptionally well.

The District 16 Fire Academy meets and exceeds SFFMA requirements for firefighter certification, providing students with the training and hands-on experience needed to serve their communities safely and effectively.

We are proud of our instructors for giving back to the fire service and helping build stronger, better-trained firefighters across our region.

** 8:25 pm Update - The search is ongoing. Due to the rough and dangerous terrain, the ground search has been halted. We are continuing with drones and other other areal search apparatus.

Parker County Emergency Services are looking for a missing elderly adult male named John, 71 year old male, gray or black hat, dark gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black shoes, has dementia. Believed to be on foot near Thompson Rd, south of Weatherford.

Today, three members of Parker County ESD 6 — Firefighter Rocco Fitzgerald, Lieutenant Thomas Bryant, and Chief Nick Wells — completed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Oklahoma City.

Together, they climbed 110 floors in honor of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each step represents a life. Each floor represents a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness displayed that day.

We climb because we remember.
We climb because they mattered.
We climb so we never forget.

September 11, 2001. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

25 years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families forever changed.

We especially remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others. We remember the police officers, EMS providers, military members, and civilians who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable circumstances.

Their sacrifice reminds us of what it means to serve: to run toward the danger, to protect those we may never meet, and to put others before ourselves.

Today, Parker County ESD 6 honors their memory and the legacy they left behind.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

August 2026 saw an 87% increase in calls compared to August 2025, and we’re already at a 25% increase year-to-date.
