🚨 🚩 Red Flag Fire Weather Warning 🚨 🚩

🚨 A Red Flag Warning 🚩 is in effect today in Northwest and Western Oklahoma due to Elevated and Near Critical fire conditions.

OEM is in contact with Oklahoma Forestry Services and Emergency Managers in the affected areas. Resources are staged in Western Oklahoma to respond more quickly.

Elevated fire weather continues into the early part of the week.

Did you know 9 out of 10 wildfires are caused by people? You can help prevent wildfires by taking these precautions:
🔥 Avoid any activities that could spark a fire
🔥 Check any recent outdoor burns to ensure they are fully extinguished
🔥 Make sure trailer chains are not dragging
🔥 Avoid driving off-road or parking in grassy areas
🔥 Delay outdoor welding or grinding until conditions improve
🔥 Stay alert and help protect our communities, firefighters, and natural resources. One spark is all it takes.

4/25 @ 12:56 PM: If you see a thunderstorm today, the greatest potential for the most intense tornadoes and largest hail will be across south central into southeast Oklahoma. However, it is important to note that large hail and intense tornadoes are possible farther northwest-–the chances just decrease with northwest extent.

[4/17] 8:45 PM - The Tornado Watch has been replaced by a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 2 AM. A tornado or two is still not out of the question but large hail and damaging winds are the primary concerns.
