Organization serving Lehigh

We are a small volunteer fire company that along with our community leaders, neighboring communities, and Carbon County works to provide an integrated network of emergency response for our residents. Responding to emergencies in residences, businesses, and industrial sites, L & L Fire Company protects and serves 2000 permanent residents and a transient population in the warmer months of 1000 to 50

00+ a week. This includes the communities of Buck Mtn., Rockport, Lauraytown, Lehigh Gorge State Park, and the many trails that weave through our townships. In the immediate vicinity, we respond as the “first due” company, which means L&LFC is the main station responsible for the emergency. We are also responsible for assisting other companies over a broader area for rescues and fire suppression.

At approximately 2:10 a.m. today, Lehigh & Lausanne Rural Vol. Fire Co. Carbon County Fire District 19 responded to South Lehigh Gorge Drive for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Crews arrived to find an overturned SUV.

Six of our members responded, with one member from Department 20 also assisting at the scene after their department was initially dispatched.

Thank you to everyone who responded and assisted. Please use caution and give emergency crews room to work when approaching an active incident.

Tuesday August 18th 2026 10 of our firefighters participated in an Autism Awareness Class for first responders At our firehouse thanks to the instructors for teaching the class and special thanks to We Are One Foundation for providing the pizza for all and some drinks!!!!! This was a very informative Class!!!!! Zach Kirsch was awseome
