The California Department of Public Health has issued an additional advisory to the public to not eat sport-harvested mussels, clams, scallops or oysters from Del Norte County.

See the additional advisory from CDPH here: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages/SN26-009.aspx

This warning does not apply to commercially sold mussels, clams, scallops, and oysters from approved sources.

Shellfish Advisory – CDPH is warning the public not to eat sport-harvested mussels, clams, oysters or scallops from Sonoma, Marin and San Mateo counties. Dangerous levels of paralytic shellfish poisoning toxins have been found in mussels from these areas. Cooking does not destroy the toxins. Always check for advisories before harvesting. 🦪

This warning does not apply to commercially sold shellfish.
