Memorial Day! Our offices will be closed.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

We remember their service, their sacrifice, and their families who have also made sacrifices.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and to pay our respects to the fallen heroes who have given their lives for our freedom.

PUBLIC ALERT & NOTICE OF CONCERN: Gray Wolf Expansion in Trinity County

The Trinity County Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution issuing a formal Public Alert and Notice of Concern regarding the recent expansion and presence of Gray Wolves within Trinity County.

As wolf populations continue to move into our region, the Board is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our residents, our local agricultural community, and household pets. We understand the significant concerns this raises for our local ranchers, livestock owners, and families recreating outdoors.

What you need to know:
Protect Livestock & Pets: Residents, particularly those in rural areas, are urged to be vigilant and secure livestock, working dogs, and pets, especially from dusk until dawn.
Stay Alert Outdoors: If you are hiking, hunting, or camping in the backcountry, remain aware of your surroundings.
Report Sightings: Please report any wolf sightings or suspected livestock depredation directly to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to help track their movements in our county. Report sightings by emailing [email protected].

The Board is actively monitoring this situation and will continue to advocate for the safety and livelihood of Trinity County residents.
