CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit – Warming temperatures and winds are quickly drying out the abundant annual grass crop. The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass as well as hotter and drier conditions in the region, are prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Area of Shasta and Eastern Trinity Counties. This suspension takes effect at: 8:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, and bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves.

KNOW YOUR ALERTS: What is an Evacuation Order?

An EVACUATION ORDER means there is an IMMEDIATE threat to life.

What you should do: LEAVE NOW. This is a lawful order to evacuate immediately. Do not delay to gather belongings. Once an order is issued, the area is lawfully closed to public access to allow emergency personnel to work safely and protect your property.
