WARNING ‼️

Medicare is advising anyone who receives a "new" plastic Medicare card in the mail to be aware that it is fake. Scammers send out plastic cards because they look more “official” than the real paper ones, making the Medicare card scam easier to believe. The letter or insert usually claims you must “verify your identity” to activate the new card. Once you call the number, the scammer asks for your Social Security number, Medicare number, or banking information. The SMP cautions seniors to report potential scams if someone calls you claiming you are getting a plastic card and it's a new year so you need a new card, among other things.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE SHARE 🚨

Several people in our area are receiving text messages claiming to be from the Alabama Department of Revenue about an unpaid traffic violation. The message threatens suspension of your vehicle registration or license and includes a link for “immediate payment.”

⚠️ This is a SCAM.

Signs it’s fake:
• It comes from a random email address or unknown number
• It pressures you to pay immediately
• It includes a suspicious payment link
• Government agencies do not send texts like this demanding payment

❗ DO NOT click the link or reply to the message.
Instead, delete it and report it as spam on your phone.

Please help protect others by sharing this post, especially with friends and family who may not realize it’s a scam.

Today we had a special breakfast for Dawn, it was her last day at the center. She has been such a blessing to all of us and we will miss her. Good luck on your new opportunity Dawn! We will certainly miss you!
