📢 The Hamilton County Conservation Board invites the community to celebrate a century of memories, recreation, and conservation at Bells Bash, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Bells Mill Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Bells Mill Park, located at 3100 Bells Mill Road, Stratford, Iowa 🎊
Since its establishment in 1926, Bells Mill Park has served as a cherished destination for generations of families, outdoor enthusiasts, and history lovers throughout Hamilton County. This milestone celebration honors the park's rich heritage while looking ahead to its future as a treasured community gathering place.
“Bells Bash” promises a full day of family-friendly activities celebrating the park's history and the community that has supported it for the past century. Visitors are invited to enjoy a co****le tournament beginning at 10:00 a.m. The afternoon festivities will continue with a welcome and commemorative remarks at 1:30 p.m. from Brian Lammers, Executive Director of the Hamilton County Conservation Board, along with members of the Hamilton County Conservation Board, followed by guided historic park tours from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Guests can also enjoy live music throughout the afternoon featuring Rural Route and The Country Cousins. Raffle drawings will begin at 4:00 p.m., with additional drawings held between musical performances.
Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of Bells Mill Park during guided tours that explore the park's historic mill wheel, the log cabin and the one room school house along with the generations of visitors who have enjoyed its natural beauty over the last 100 years.
In addition to celebrating the park's past, the event will help invest in its future. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales and donations collected during the celebration will support the purchase of new playground equipment, ensuring that future generations can continue making memories at Bells Mill Park for years to come.
“Bells Mill Park has been part of our community’s story for 100 years,” said Brian Lammers, who serves as Executive Director. “This celebration is an opportunity to honor its history, thank everyone who has helped preserve it, and invest in the next century of recreation, education, and conservation.”
The Hamilton County Conservation Board encourages residents, former visitors, and anyone with fond memories of Bells Mill Park to attend this once-in-a-century celebration.
