📚 Change to Hoopla Borrowing Limits
Beginning soon, Kendall Young Library patrons will be able to check out 4 Hoopla items per month instead of 6.
We know Hoopla is a popular service, and we want to continue offering it to our community. However, Hoopla operates differently from many of our other digital services. The Library pays a fee each time a patron checks out an item. Rather than purchasing a title once and owning it, each Hoopla checkout creates a new cost for the Library, and the amount can vary depending on the item.
As Hoopla use has grown, so has the amount the Library spends on the service. Reducing the monthly checkout limit from 6 to 4 will help us manage these rising costs while still keeping Hoopla available to our patrons.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to balance our budget and continue providing a wide variety of books, audiobooks, movies, music, and other digital resources.
