We’re deeply grateful to Webster Groves Public Library, not only for providing space for our meetings but also for their service as a pillar of the Webster Groves community. Learn more about how August’s Proposition L would support WGPL here: https://www.wgpl.org/taxlevy/

The Library is asking voters to consider a tax increase through Proposition L.
If approved, Proposition L would help the Library maintain current service levels, address building maintenance and repair needs, and provide stable funding to plan confidently for the future.

Amendment 1 is the Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax. It originally passed in 1984 and sunsets every 10 years. It funds 75% of Missouri State Parks operating budget with the other 25% paid by the park’s earnings from camping fees, other fees, and some federal funds. It always passes; but its placement on the August ballot with Amendments 4&5 might be a problem. Please VOTE YES ON 1 to keep our state parks open and free to visit!!

- Shirley Wolverson, JTDC club member, Missouri Parks Association Board member

Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced that he has signed proclamations placing Amendment 1, Amendment 2 (HJR 23/3), Amendment 4 (HJR 3), and Amendment 5 (HJR 173/174) on the August primary election ballot. The primary election will take place on August 4, 2026.

Thank you to Senators Tracy McCreery & Doug Beck for debriefing us on the legislative session and hearing concerns from our community. It’s a deep shame that Missouri’s bar for success is “avoiding complete disaster,” but we’re proud to have them both representing us and fighting for our future on the Senate floor. Now it’s up to us to hold the line in August and November!

We also heard from Webster’s own Jo Doll State Representative District 91 via letter, sadly she had a scheduling conflict but we deeply appreciate her giving us her time and thoughts however possible.

Oh, and two first-time Democratic candidates for state house crashed our meeting: Cathy "Cat" Summers for Missouri, running to flip a seat in Mehlville, and Patrick Wroblewski for Missouri House District 72, hoping to keep Overland and St. Ann in good hands. Thank you both for stopping by!

If you couldn’t make it to our recent meetings to hear from our candidates for County Executive, our Kirkwood neighbors are hosting a forum for all three Democratic candidates on June 8th!

The Jefferson Township Democrats offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Connie Harge, who passed on Wednesday.
She served with dedication as the longtime Treasurer of the Ferguson Township Democratic Club, advocated for her neighbors on the Ferguson-Florissant school board, and was a deeply beloved part of her community. May her enduring memory be a blessing to us all.

Congratulations to our Democratic friends in Affton, Crestwood, & Sunset Hills! We’re very excited by the Gravois Democrats and their rapid growth-2026 elections, bring it on!

We did it! After years of inactivity, we hit our initial goal and grew to one of the biggest Democratic township organizations in St. Louis County within just a few months. Your support and belief in the work we're doing on the grassroots level made this possible, and we're proud to be in this fight for you!

Onward, to the next 30!
