🎓 Today we’re celebrating Academic Excellence at the Webster Groves Police Department!

Our core values are Excellence, Teamwork, and Mentorship, and today Sergeant Cam McCullough showed exactly what Excellence looks like. Cam walked across the stage at Webster University and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree! 👏

What makes this accomplishment even more impressive? He achieved it while serving full-time as a Webster Groves Sergeant of Police and raising a family. That kind of dedication, discipline, and perseverance is no small feat.

We are incredibly proud to have Sergeant McCullough on our team and grateful for the example he sets every day.

If you see Cam out in the community, be sure to congratulate him!

Keep up the great work, Cam because you’re going places! 🚔📚🎉

Today, the Webster Groves Police and Fire Departments had the honor of visiting Hixson Middle School to celebrate “Tip of the Hat!” 🎩👏

Twenty-two outstanding students were recognized for demonstrating Hixson’s core values of Positive Relationships, Respect, and Teamwork. Once we heard about these incredible kids, we knew we had to join the celebration, so we brought pizza and surprised each student with TWO tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game! ⚾🍕

We had an awesome time hanging out with these future leaders and seeing firsthand the positive impact they’re making in their school community. Keep up the great work, students, because your future is bright! 💙🚓🚒

The Watson Corridor Fraud Prevention Partnership is a joint initiative from the Crestwood and Webster Groves police departments.

It is a targeted effort to guard against scams, where criminals are tricking victims into buying gift cards to pay for fake debts, prizes, or emergencies.

Many of the fraud attempts involve several thousand dollars with the scammers pretending to be from law enforcement or another government agency.

Victims are pressured into purchasing gift cards at pharmacies or convenience stores, then provide the card number or PIN over the phone.

Police are being proactive, working with businesses to identify and hopefully prevent scams from occurring.

Employees will be on the lookout for customers who are trying to purchase multiple gift cards in high dollar amounts while on the phone.

Remember that no real business or government agency will ever demand payment via a gift card. If you suspect fraud, contact the police.

Officer Matt Hill (Crestwood) and Detective Julian Rivera (Webster Groves) highlight the importance of the new partnership in this video.

Higher parking fines have been proposed for the new Fiscal Year that begins in July.

Webster Groves Police Chief Vincent Acevez explains that parking tickets no longer discourage violations. Drivers are treating the fines as a small convenience fee, and illegal parking continues in busy areas.

Currently, Webster Groves is an outliner with fines of just $10 to $25 for most violations – much lower than neighboring communities.

The City has proposed moderate changes to increase compliance and align with regional standards.

In the new Fiscal Year, fines for general parking violations would increase by $15 with accessible violations rising by $75.

Webster Groves Police issued more than 1,300 parking citations in 2025.

These regulations exist to ensure public safety. Illegal parking can block visibility at intersections, slow emergency response, and limit availability of accessible spaces.
