In the last 14 hours our staff has responded to separate cases of vehicles through the ice. This may make you question, what does an ambulance do then? The truck stays on shore. Under no circumstances does the truck go out on the ice. We coordinate with GF&P and law enforcement to get to the patient and get them safely back to shore. If you are ever in the area when you see an ambulance waiting on the shore, do not yell at the crew to get out there with the truck. If a car goes through weighing in at 8,000 #, what do you think an ambulance will do weighing in at 14,000 #? Our staff is always happy to answer questions. Just please be considerate when you see us on calls.

The last few days may have felt like spring, sadly it's not though (65 days!). Be prepared for the quickly changing weather that is predicted for the area the next few days. Windy, frigid temps, and snow flurries coming to a town near you, possibly, maybe, not sure. Mother nature is a bit bipolar this week.
