Earlier this evening (September 17) I appeared in crown and sash at the Webster Community Center in Webster, NY which is a suburb of Rochester. I make periodic trips here for martial arts, and my classmate Tracy Dennis (PSBN, third degree black belt rank) invited me to visit an arts and crafts event that she is part of, which was one of the Women’s Empowerment Programs sponsored by the Webster Community Chest (webcommchest.org); this is a non-profit community resources and services organization. At the event, I gave a short oration about what pageantry has meant to me, and about my platform of anti-bullying advocacy, and my recent volunteer efforts on food insecurity. My thanks goes to Tracy for inviting me, and also to Michael Grenier who is the president of WCC (he is pictured in the bottom photo).
