WHAT A SHOW‼️

As always, so many great cars attended this years show but there can only be 1 best of show. This year our best of show is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air owned by Eugene Thomason.

We will be posting photos over the next couple days. If you took a photo this year of the show, comment it below!

Christopher M. Johnston, 39, of College Corner, Ohio, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Christopher was a 2005 Union County High School graduate. A hard worker from the very beginning, Christopher earned many awards as a Boy Scout, worked at the Liberty CountryMark Co Op, College Corner Implement Company, Harvestland, Rumpke, and Usalco. After a successful blind date, he met the love of his life, Amanda, and they married in 2009. In 2013, Christopher and Amanda were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Morgan.
Christopher joined the Boston Fire Department in 2016, later received the title of Lieutenant, and was an Israel Township Trustee for many faithful years. He was also a member of the Salem Friends Church.

Christopher was preceded in death by his mother, Julie (Vivian) Johnston, and grandparents, John and Marilyn Johnston, Jack Vivian, and Donna Weber.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda, daughter, Morgan, father, Kevin (Kim) Johnston, sister, Katherine (Brock) O’Neil, nephews, Brock and Julian O’Neil, as well as many other family members and friends.

Visitation for Christopher will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 9:00 am at the College Corner Union School in College Corner, until the time of the service at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Paul Ayers.
Burial will follow at the College Corner Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made for the benefit of his daughter, Morgan, and her future plans.

WAYNE COUNTY DAMAGE & PROPERTY LOSS REPORTING

Wayne County residents and businesses who sustained property damage or loss as a result of this week’s severe weather and flooding are asked to complete the damage assessment questionnaire.

Please follow the link below or scan the QR code to report your damage or losses.

Information collected through this questionnaire will be used by local officials as part of ongoing damage assessment and recovery operations. Your information will help officials identify, document, and quantify the extent of losses throughout Wayne County.

IMPORTANT: Completing this questionnaire does not guarantee financial assistance or reimbursement. This form is being used to gather information to support the local damage assessment and recovery process.

This questionnaire is NOT a FEMA application or request for FEMA assistance. If Wayne County is approved for federal financial assistance, additional information will be provided and FEMA representatives may be in the area to assist residents and businesses with the appropriate application and recovery process.

🚨 CATASTROPHIC FLOODING — LEVEL 3 TRAVEL ADVISORY 🚨

Webster Twp Fire Department is currently responding to multiple water rescues throughout the area as flooding conditions continue to worsen.

Wayne County is currently under a Level 3 Travel Advisory, Roadways are becoming extremely dangerous and, in many areas, impassable.

Please do not attempt to drive through flooded roads or around barricades. Turn around, don’t drown.

Our responders, along with other emergency personnel, are actively working to assist those who are in danger. Please give them room to work and avoid traveling through affected areas.

Stay home. Stay safe.

We will continue to provide updates as conditions change.

Be very cautious this morning if you have to be out traveling. Our area has experienced high rainfall amounts throughout the night causing water to stand and pond along streets and roadways. Some areas may be completely flooded. Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
