A Georgia Bulldog outfit, new glasses and a Nike outfit were reported stolen. A suspect was named.

A property owner reported five of his neighborโ€™s cows have been in his pasture for more than a month. The complainant stated he has contacted the owner several times and wants the cattle removed.

An excavator caught fire while working near a burn pit. No injuries were reported.

๐Ÿ“ May 23 โ€“ County Road 968, near New Hope West Church
A Lineville woman who had been missing in the woods for approximately 12 to 16 hours was located safely. She and several friends had been riding dirt roads when their truck became stuck. The woman became separated from the group while attempting to wave down help. She was evaluated by Southern Ambulance Transport and later taken to a friendโ€™s residence.

Prescription medications were reported missing from a residence.

๐Ÿ“ May 11 โ€“ County Road 495, Liberty Grove
A resident reported a white Chevrolet 4x4 truck traveling up and down the road, spinning tires and throwing gravel. The gravel reportedly struck the complainantโ€™s residence and vehicles, causing damage.

๐Ÿ“ May 12 โ€“ Lakeview Drive, Wedowee
Unauthorized use of a truck was reported after multiple requests for its return were ignored.

๐Ÿ“ May 14 โ€“ Highway 431, Rock Stand
Rock Stand and other volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire in which a house was fully engulfed. A vehicle and side-by-side parked nearby were also damaged. The fire is believed to have originated in the laundry room.

๐Ÿ“ May 15 โ€“ County Road 263, Fosterโ€™s Crossroads
Unauthorized use of a vehicle was reported.

๐Ÿ“ May 16 โ€“ County Road 65, Broughton
A Roanoke man reported he was grazed in the back of the head by a bullet Saturday afternoon while in the yard of a residence in the Broughton community. The victim stated he had parked on the side of the road and was walking toward the house when the suspect retrieved a pistol from a vehicle and began firing. The victim reported he believed four shots were fired and that he ran back to his vehicle.

A second victim stated the suspect struck her on the right side of the head with the pistol, causing her ear to bleed. She said when she attempted to run into the house, the suspect fired in her direction. A white Ford truck parked in the yard was also struck by gunfire.

๐Ÿ“ May 4 โ€“ Wedowee
A complainant reported he received a call from โ€œBank of America Fraud Departmentโ€ regarding charges the caller wanted him to review. The complainant was transferred to a โ€œsupervisor,โ€ who told him he had a virus on his phone and offered to assist in removing it. The victim gave the caller access to his phone, which allowed access to banking information, passwords, email accounts and more. The victim was able to stop the bank from paying out any money and lock the accounts before funds were lost.

An Echo gas-powered backpack blower, Craftsman 14-inch gas-powered chainsaw and Craftsman 2400 PSI gas-powered pressure washer were reported stolen.

A dark blue 2019 Honda Civic and a three-seat Yamaha WaveRunner were reported stolen.

A neighbor told the complainant they had seen two white males in a white truck remove a battery from his truck. The complainant later discovered the entire truck had been stolen. The vehicle is described as a white four-door 2008 Chevrolet Colorado.

Medication was reported stolen from a purse. A suspect was named.

A resident reported being scammed out of $1,700 by a work-from-home advertisement found on Facebook for a company called TBD Communications.

A complainant reported the theft of $2,000 in cash and two key fobs. A suspect was named.

A resident reported hearing a noise near the back door around 1 a.m. The resident saw someone leaving the residence. The sliding door was broken, and the lock was found lying on the ground.

A witness reported seeing a white male take a push mower and drag it from a neighborโ€™s residence into his own yard.

An Amazon contract driver was bitten by a dog.

๐Ÿ“ May 9 โ€“ Pinetucky Lane, Pinetucky
A resident reported his neighbor hit him with a tractor while grading a private dirt road. The victim stated he approached the tractor driver while videoing and asking if he had permission to work on the road. According to the report, the tractor driver attempted to turn around after telling the victim to leave him alone. The victim alleged he was then struck by the front of the tractor. The victim refused ambulance transport but photographs of injuries were taken. The victim was advised of warrant procedures.

Approximately $2,000 in cash and a purse were reported stolen. Suspects were named.

๐Ÿšจ SCAM ALERT ๐Ÿšจ

The Randolph County Sheriffโ€™s Office has received reports of citizens receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be Lieutenant Nathaniel Morrow and other deputies with the department.

The callers are telling people they have a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty and demanding a large sum of money to โ€œtake care ofโ€ the warrant. In some cases, citizens are being instructed to wire money or use other forms of electronic payment.

Please be advised:

โŒ No deputy with the Randolph County Sheriffโ€™s Office will ever call your home or workplace demanding money.
โŒ Warrants cannot be resolved by wiring money, sending gift cards, electronic payments, or any similar method over the phone.

These calls are scams designed to frighten people into sending money.

If you receive a call like this:

โ€ข Do not provide personal or banking information
โ€ข Hang up immediately

April 26 โ€“ County Road 460, Woodland
A resident reported hearing a gunshot followed by a dog yelping. When the dog returned, it was limping and had blood on its face, nose, and bottom lip. The resident stated a neighbor frequently shoots and has bragged about killing animals without reason.

April 28 โ€“ County Road 133, Wedowee
A complainant reported her ex-husband took her food stamp card from her mailbox, has been using it, and refuses to return it.

April 28 โ€“ County Road 82, Morrisonโ€™s Crossroads
Morrisonโ€™s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire involving tires being burned.

April 29 โ€“ Highway 22, Dickert
A complainant reported the theft of a Pringles can containing 20 silver 1965 quarters and 16 1967 quarters. The can was later found in her car with only six of the 1965 quarters remaining. The 1965 quarters are valued at approximately $168, and the 1967 quarters at approximately $4. Suspects were named.

April 29 โ€“ County Road 263, Fosterโ€™s Crossroads
A workshop window was broken, and several items were stolen, including a Stihl w**d trimmer, Stihl handheld blower, an additional w**d trimmer, and a Stihl tiller.

April 29 โ€“ County Road 271, Corinth North
A Toyota truck was reported stolen.

April 30 โ€“ Lakeside Drive, Twin Lakes, Roanoke
A landlord reported two black males in a blue Honda Civic entered a residence while no one was home. They abandoned the vehicle after the vehicleโ€™s tire went flat. The landlord was advised the vehicle could be towed. The landlord also reported that others have been entering the residence while the tenant is away.

May 1 โ€“ County Road 59, Woodland
Rock Stand and Tin Shop Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire involving a piece of logging equipment.

May 1 โ€“ County Road 82, Fosterโ€™s Crossroads
A complainant reported being awakened when his door was kicked in. He later discovered his yard had been rolled. He observed an individual run through the yard, get into a vehicle near the bridge, and leave toward DP Oil.

May 2 โ€“ Pineywoods, Wedowee
Deputies observed a red Mustang driving aggressively after exiting County Road 4. This vehicle had also been performing donuts on U.S. 431 near County Road 121. Once Deputies activated their lights and sirens, the vehicle was clocked traveling between 86 and 107 mph. The driver turned onto Pineywoods Drive, where the vehicle slid to a stop, and the driver fled on foot. The resident of the address stated she owned the vehicle and she was unaware her cousin had taken the car. The vehicle was towed due to felony eluding charges. The owner filed a report of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Wedowee Police Department assisted. The driver was not located at that time.

May 2 โ€“ County Road 451, near Prospect Church
A camperโ€™s window and window air conditioning unit were shot. The resident was also threatened with a shotgun.

May 3 โ€“ County Road 39, near Gray Hill Church
A resident reported a black and orange side-by-side entered the yard and spun around, causing damage. A suspect was named.

May 3 โ€“ County Road 459, east of Woodland
Woodland and Bethel East Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire involving logging equipment. The operator attempted to extinguish the fire prior to their arrival.
