๐Ÿšจ SCAM ALERT ๐Ÿšจ

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has once again received reports of citizens receiving phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to be deputies with our department. The scammers are using the names of actual deputies, including Chief Deputy Donnie Grant, and are spoofing local phone numbers that either match or closely resemble the Randolph County Sheriff's Office phone number.

The callers are telling people they have a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty and other reasons and are demanding a large sum of money to "take care of" the warrant. In some cases, citizens are instructed to wire money, make electronic payments, or use a cryptocurrency or cash payment kiosk.

Please remember:

โŒ No deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office will ever call your home, workplace, or cell phone demanding money.

โŒ A warrant cannot be resolved by wiring money, purchasing gift cards, making electronic payments, or depositing money into a kiosk or any similar method.

These calls are scams designed to frighten people into sending money.

If you receive one of these calls:

๐Ÿ“ต Do not send money.

๐Ÿšซ Do not provide personal, banking, or financial information.

๐Ÿ“ž Hang up immediately.

๐Ÿ‘ฎ Contact the Randolph County Sheriff's Office at 256-357-4545 if you have questions or would like to report receiving a similar call.

If you have any information about individuals involved in this scam, please contact the Randolph County Sheriff's Office at 256-357-4545.

โš–๏ธ Alabama law makes it a felony to falsely impersonate a peace officer and perform acts in that capacity, including attempting to deceive or defraud members of the public.
