August 24 โ County Road 112, Bethel East Community
A 73-year-old Woodland man was transported by helicopter to a hospital following a tractor accident on Monday.
A passerby noticed the victim slumped over the steering wheel of his tractor after a hay bale had fallen on him. The passerby, who happened to be a nurse, stopped and was able to move the hay bale off the victim.
The victim's foot then slipped, activating the tractor's reverse gear. The witness was unable to stop the tractor, which traveled through a neighbor's fence before coming to a stop in a pasture. She remained with the victim until an ambulance arrived.
August 25 โ County Road 75, Bacon Level Community
Randolph County deputies assisted Chambers County officers who had pursued a vehicle into southeastern Randolph County.
The 2002 BMW wrecked, and the driver fled on foot. When deputies requested permission to search a residence on County Road 75 in the Bacon Level Community, the driver came out of the residence and surrendered to Chambers County deputies.
August 29 โ County Road 532, Newell
Unauthorized use of a 2000 Nissan Xterra was reported.
August 30 โ County Road 75, Rock Mills
Residents reported that former occupants of the home had been accessing their electronic devices and breaking into the residence. Meat was also reported stolen from a freezer. The residents stated they had made previous reports involving the same individuals.
