The Lake Shastina Police Department is highlighting one of our officers not just as a member of the department, but as a neighbor and friend. ๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ค
Today we are highlighting Officer Samuel Woods.
Officer Woods joined the department in October 2023. Prior to that, he spent four years with the Siskiyou County Sheriffโs Department, where he served as the Search and Rescue Coordinator, a SWAT team sniper, and a field training officer. ๐
Before his law enforcement career, Samuel served in the United States Army as an infantry sniper. During his service, he received distinguished military honors, including the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart.

Iโve always felt a calling to serve. That started in the military and eventually led me into law enforcement, where I can continue serving and making a positive impact in my community.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you on duty?
My radio fell off my belt into the snow. I drove off, and my field training officer had to go back and find it for me.
