If your plans include anything that might affect your ability to drive, make a plan for a sober ride instead.

Weโ€™d rather see you get home safe than meet you the other way. ๐Ÿš”

Over the weekend, Lake Shastina Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in a residential area of Lake Shore Drive.
Upon arrival, officers located a white Volkswagen Tiguan that had left the roadway and collided with a pine tree off the north shoulder. The vehicle sustained major front end damage and was found unoccupied at the scene. During an inventory of the vehicle, officers located multiple items indicative of controlled substance use.

A 47 year old male from Lake Shastina was later located approximately one half mile from the collision site. The male was not seriously injured. Through the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause to believe the driver had been operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail on charges related to driving under the influence of drugs and possession of controlled substances.

This incident is an example of the work being done by Lake Shastina Police officers to keep the community safe. Driving under the influence of drugs can impair judgment, reaction time, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle.

Thankfully, no other persons were injured.

All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ
