**Joint Investigation Leads to Arrest**

The W**d Police Department initiated an undercover sting using social media and dating apps to identify online predators. During the operation, an undercover officer posed as a 13-year-old minor to engage with potential predators and to obtain evidence of their illegal conduct.

During the sting Jeramy Black, 23, of Redding, engaged in communications of a sexual nature with the undercover officer. Jeramy Black also provided the undercover officer pictures of himself possessing multiple different fi****ms. Jeramy Black was identified and found to be a resident of Redding. The W**d Police Department requested assistance from the Redding Police Department Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) in apprehending Jeramy Black. The W**d Police Department also provided NPU with the pictures of the fi****ms Jeramy Black possessed. One of the fi****ms was found to be reported stolen during a residential burglary.

The W**d Police Department authored a Ramey Warrant for Jeramy Black’s arrest in regards to the sexual communications with the undercover officer. NPU authored a search warrant for Jeramy Black’s residence.

On April 9, 2026, NPU and the W**d Police Department executed the search and Ramey Warrants at Jeramy Black’s residence. Officers recovered the stolen AR-15 rifle, additional fi****ms and high-capacity magazines, firearm components consistent with 3D-printed construction (including Glock-style pistol frames), 80% polymer lower receivers for AR-15 style rifles, and other evidence indicating firearm manufacturing activity at the residence. Both the Redding Police Department and the W**d Police Department remain committed to public safety, online safety, and pursuing individuals who illegally possess, manufacture, or traffic fi****ms, and who exploit children online.
