The Cougars closed out the long weekend at the ACA tourney with a 5-0 win over Trinity. Overall it was 2-2 weekend with wins over Burney and Trinity and losses to Chester and Fall River. The Cougars head into Spring Break with a 5-2 record and open league play against Trinity at home on Tuesday, April 2.

Cougars opened the ACA tournament in Redding with 1 win and 1 loss yesterday. Took down Burney in game 1 then the bats went cold against Chester and we lost 5-3 leaving the bases loaded in the in our final at bat. We look to bounce back today at 1:40, opponent TBD...

Cougars sweep a frigid doubleheader against Redding Christian. Braxton Barnes with a no-hitter in game 1, 11 Ks (first no-no since James Brunello in 2014 vs Mt. Shasta). Game 2, Chris Dahmen Win (1-0) 4 IP, 7 k’s, Enrique Sanchez 1 IP, 2 K’s... Lots of contributors on offense and defense. Good way to start the season... stats will updated soon.

The Cougar Baseball team would like to thank the W**d Sons of Italy for another great year of dinner events. Members of the baseball team served and cleaned up at the Polenta Dinner in October, the Crab Feed in February and the W**d Museum Dinner last night. In total the Cougars earned over $2,500 in tips that will cover the equipment and tournament costs this season. Thank you to all the community members who attended these events and donated to the program, and thank you W**d Sons of Italy for your support.

Cougars open the season with a doubleheader sweep of Burney 11-10 and 11-9. After a two week weather delay to opening day, the boys were able to hold off late charges by the the Raiders in both games and get the wins. Next game: Tuesday vs Henley (Freshman) game will likely be moved to Klamath Falls due to weather.

Members of the 2018 W**d Cougar baseball team worked hard at the annual Sons of Italy Crab Feed tonight and earned over $1,100 in tips. Fantastic way to start our season. Thank you to the W**d Sons of Italy Lodge and all the community members who attended tonight’s event. Always a great experience for the boys, and a true testament to how awesome the W**d community is.

Cougars play American Christian Academy tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at Big League Dreams in Redding. Winner will play in the championship game of the small school bracket of the tournament.
